THEY TOASTED TO MY FIRST NIGHT
just got back from hen night part deux. with a different brood of chicks this time round. there were no strippers (yeah), but i *did* get to learn salsa! well, whatever i could muster in one night, that is. i swear my hips are getting more karat by the year. they're so kejong now. but dancing with the girls just now brought back many memories of our teadancing heydays (remember "fire"?
my goodness.) here we are, twelve years later, spoofing our spastic teenage moves on the dance floor, and laughing at sungguh-tak-tau-the-meaning-of-rhythm ah lians who tried oh-so-hard to impress the mirror with their pseudo lesbian gyrations.
we attempted (in rhythm, no less):
- step bhangra menggigil
- step kuda gila
- step melayang terhoyong-hayang
- step running man ala abang-abang yang suka bukak step
- step pompuan mentel tak jadi (
or is it menjadi-jadi?)
and of course. salsa. ehem. i think i *will* take proper lessons after this. now that i'm a tai-tai and all. hehe. maybe i'll drag man-boy along!
it was nice meeting up and catching up with the chicks. and even though most of us were not dressed for a night of (impromptu) dancing, we ended up having a swell time... so swell that we didn't really get to discuss the bridemaid duties in detail! uh oh!

POP THAT CHERRY
a scene from my hen night out. where
hornified behaviour is very much an obligation. :p
the 77 clan generally "sabo-ed" me, from having to put on a black negligee in a turkish restaurant, to dancing on stage in front of a full audience. with only a few days left of being single-mingle, i didn't mind being the object of ridicule at all. it helped that i'm
a muka tak tau malu as well. :D
i think i shall let
the mother hen do the talking.

LADY OF LEISURE. NOT.
the mystery of the missing dinner cards has been solved! they've made their appearance (albeit guiltily) and are well on their way to destined mailboxes. one headache down; many more to go...
things to look forward to:
* farewell party by my drama kids
* hen party with mak ayam and the rest of the chicks
* painting my bright yellow room with a more wedding-friendly colour (heh)
* meeting my bridesmaids and delegating duties to them (besides the mandatory "tangkap-ing jambu")
* wrapping 1800 favours (EEEKS! but the stickers and tags do add a lovely touch :D)
* assembling new bedroom furniture and 'hiding' away old ones
* running after the andam people for my
first fitting
* finalising songs with the designated dj
now... can someone tell me why brides are prone to breakouts when their big day approaches?? i have mounts krakatoa and pinatubo on my face! jia lat ahh!!

FENING LALAT
my day invitation cards are all sold out. no more stock. but the parents are still receiving calls from "forgotten" people (read: non-relatives and distant DISTANT friends) who ask why they are not invited, and
demand to be invited. why do people do this? is this even ethical in our malay community? cos i don't get it. there's a reason why you
plan a guest list and order a
restricted number of cards - so that you don't end up inviting the whole world! my parents are of course more than accommodating and set off to buy more pre-printed cards without any hesitation. but i reminded them of the limited food and of course the limited favours. i don't mean to be dengki-slash-kedekut, but we *are* working within a tight budget. so every little bit counts. nanti kalau makanan/berkat semua tak cukup, siapa yang susah? pfft.
shock no 2: my dinner cards are still stuck at the customs. my wedding is in less than 2 weeks' time, but my friends and colleagues have yet to see my cards'
batang hidong! my apologetic card designer decided to waive the remaining payment for the huge inconvenience. you cannot imagine how kancheong i am right now. i've been waiting for my dinner cards to arrive for the last two weeks! so if you're still waiting, wait some more ok? let's just see when the cards will appear. :S
yesterday, i dreamt that my mak andam had totally forgotten about my nikah. so i went through the ceremony berkemban,
sans makeup. what a nightmare.
